Copa America Game

The Socceroos’ participation in the prestigious Copa America tournament has been sealed. Hours after the Matildas put Brazil to the sword, the Socceroos could be lining up their own clash with the South American giants. Graham Arnold’s side will play at least five games against a variety of South American opposition thanks to the invitation to join one of the world’s most prestigious tournaments. Two overseas sides are invited each year to round out the numbers of competing teams to 12, and next year it will be Australia and Qatar taking part in June and July. The tournament will initially be split into two groups, with Australia placed with either Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela or Argentina, Uruguay, Bolivia, Paraguay and Chile by the drawing of lots.
